September will bring a major padel fixture to Marsa Sports Club as the Malta Padel Open 2026, sponsored by Lavazza, gets underway across two competition phases.
The event will open with the Men’s & Women’s Events from 16 to 20 September, followed by the Mixed Event from 23 to 27 September.
Two Competition Phases, One Tournament
The format gives players the opportunity to compete across separate Men’s, Women’s and Mixed categories while remaining part of one overall Malta Padel Open programme.
The Men’s & Women’s Events will close for entries on 12 September, while entries for the Mixed Event remain open until 19 September.
€2,500 Combined Prize Pool
Players will be competing for a combined prize pool of €2,500 across the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed events. With competition taking place across two tournament phases, September promises plenty of padel action at Marsa Sports Club.
From Group Battles to Knockout Pressure
Both competition phases will begin with a Group Stage before progressing into the Knockout Stage.
From the Group Stage through to the Quarter-Finals, matches will be played as best of three sets, with a Match Tie-Break deciding the third set where required.
From the Semi-Finals onwards, the pressure rises further, with matches played as best of three full sets.
Every Point Matters
The tournament will use standard padel scoring up to deuce.
After the first deuce, normal advantage scoring will apply. If a game returns to deuce for a second time, a Deciding Point will determine the game, with the receiving pair choosing the side.
That structure should make for quick swings in momentum, especially once the tournament moves into the knockout stages.
Entry Details
The entry fee is €35 per player, and participants must hold a valid MTPF registration number.
Presentations will take place following the respective finals.
