The Malta Padel Open 2026 comes to Marsa Sports Club this September, bringing together men’s, women’s and mixed competition across two tournament phases. Sponsored by Lavazza, the event will be played at Marsa Sports Club from 16 to 27 September 2026, with separate competition dates and closing dates for the Men’s & Women’s Events and the Mixed Event.

Men’s & Women’s Events
Tournament dates: 16–20 September 2026
Entries close: 12 September 2026
The Men’s and Women’s Events will begin with a Group Stage, followed by the
Knockout Stage.

Mixed Event
Tournament dates: 23–27 September 2026
Entries close: 19 September 2026
The Mixed Event will follow the same group-stage and knockout format.

Prize Pool
A combined prize pool of €2,500 will be awarded across the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed events.

Tournament Format
The Malta Padel Open will begin with group-stage matches before progressing into the knockout rounds. From the Group Stage through to the Quarter-Finals, matches will be played as best of three sets, with the third set decided by a Match Tie-Break if required. The Semi-Finals and Finals will be played as best of three full sets.

Match Scoring
Standard padel scoring will apply up to deuce.
After the first deuce, normal advantage scoring will be used. If the game returns to deuce for a second time, a Deciding Point will be played to determine the game, with the receiving pair choosing the side from which the point is played.

Third Set Rules
For matches from the Group Stage through to the Quarter-Finals, a Match Tie- Break will be used if the match reaches one set all. The Match Tie-Break is played to 10 points, with a minimum winning margin of two points. For the Semi-Finals and Final, the third set will be played in full, with standard tiebreak rules applying at 6–6.

Entry Requirements
Players must have a valid MTPF registration number.

Entry fee: €35 per player per event.

Schedule and Walkovers
The original published tournament schedule will be considered the official schedule. Players and pairs are expected to be ready at their scheduled match time. If a player or pair is more than 15 minutes late, a walkover will be awarded to the opposing pair.

Any schedule changes must be approved by the Tournament Director.

General Tournament Rules
All other rules will follow the applicable rules and regulations of the Federation. Players are expected to respect their opponents, officials and tournament staff throughout the competition.

The Tournament Director/Referee will have the final decision on any matters arising during the tournament.

Presentation
A presentation will take place after the respective finals.
