Mission statement
“The Marsa Sports Club is non-Profit organization providing a warm and welcoming environment for its members, guests and visitors. It is committed to provide the best possible facilities whilst fostering the growth of its junior programs to positively impact the development of youths in sports and therefore ensuing the longevity of the Marsa Sports Club. Our ultimate goal is to provide a sporting facility where individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to take up a sport discipline practised within the club and to offer a recreational space for families and children to relax in a safe, child friendly and equitable atmosphere.
Role of Secretary
Article 26
1. The Secretary shall be employed by the Committee of Management. The Secretary is authorized to recruit or terminate such personnel as may be necessary to ensure the proper administration of the Club, and to determine the remuneration/allowances payable/allowable to such personnel with the approval of the Finance Committee.”
Responsibilities
- Organizing committee meetings and general meetings (GMs), including agenda preparation, minute-taking and distribution, ensuring effective communication as needed
- Ensuring timely communication of meeting schedules, locations and online arrangements, providing adequate notice to all members, including those conducted through platforms such as Zoom or other online tools
- To take minutes of meetings and write up all minutes accurately and promptly
- Processing and delivering relevant correspondence and information as required
- Managing arrangements for events and guest speakers
- Managing and coordinating the logistics of local and international tournaments, camps and events
- Collaborating with committee members from various sports sections within the club to ensure proper administrative measures are in place
- Managing the daily operations of the club, encompassing both internal and external communications
- Assuming the role of the club’s observer and informant, acquiring distinct insights into its culture, performance and future trajectory through member interactions and subsequently relaying feedback to the appropriate committee
- Overseeing the execution of approved improvements/projects as directed by committees, which involves obtaining quotes and managing workers and contractors
- Good working knowledge of IT
- Executing contract negotiations for services, purchases and sales in alignment with club committee approvals

- Exhibiting robust communication skills, including proficiency in verbal and written IT capabilities
- Possessing adept administration skills, encompassing word processing and minute-taking
- Exhibiting exceptional organizational skills and the confidence to represent the club during external meetings
- Upholding a strong sense of integrity and honesty
- Possessing effective time-management skills
- Displaying aptitude in project management
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles
Qualifications
Possessing a qualification of Level 6 or higher in a related field will be advantageous.
Remuneration
